Girl Guides Stay Connected

20 April 2020

Girl Guides in West Pymble developed a 2020 Home Challenge for Junior Guides to stay connected and to keep girls engaged at home.

Each Junior Guide was sent a pack containing six themed challenges to test their creative Guiding skills. The girls have completed a range of activities from growing sprouts, playing jokes, making chocolates and learning secret tracking skills. The Unit has also set up a blog so the girls comment on each challenge and share photos of their creations.

Feedback from families has been very encouraging with parents appreciating the way Guiding has continued in the home and providing girls something to look forward to each week.

"Such a huge amount of work has gone into these packs. We really appreciate it. Some very excited girls have already started exploring the packs. This will keep them engaged and we will keep them on track." said  Jacqui C, West Pymble parent.

"At the end of the challenge we are organising a virtual campfire meeting so that each girl can be awarded a challenge badge which has been posted out, said Larissa Shashkof, West Pymble Leader. "It's really important to continue our Guiding traditions and empower girls to celebrate their accomplishments." .
