20 June 2024

Do you yearn to go down in history as one of the select few individuals chosen to have their design produced on a GGS Event Badge? Do you have what it takes to design the Great Guide Sleepover badge for 2024? Do you want to win an adorable Jellycat Frog?

Get creative and start designing, now!

The Competition

All Girl Guides aged 10 and over are encouraged to get creative and submit a design for the Great Guide Sleepover 2024 event badge! Why a blanket badge? Event badges are a wonderful memento for many Girl Guiding experiences and serve as an incredible reminder for the awesome adventures we get to experience as Girl Guides.

Every badge that adorns your camp blanket creates a rich tapestry that becomes an external billboard for your sense of self and tells a tale of the adventures you’ve had and the friends you’ve made and fun you’ve had along the way.

This year, the Great Guide Sleepover Badge Design is just for the OG Zoo location: Taronga Zoo Sydney! (Not the original Sleepover location – the very first was the steps of the Opera House. It is the original Zoo location 😉).  You might like to refer to this location in your design.

You will need to centre your design around this year’s conservation focus the Corroboree Frog!

Whatever you choose, the sky’s the limit! You can  Get designing now!

Criteria

Your badge can follow any theme, and any design! The requirements are that your design includes:
  • ‘Great Guide Sleepover 2024’ in clear lettering,
  • our Trefoil logo, and
  • this year’s conservation focus animal the Corroboree Frog.
See below some older Great Guide Sleepover badge examples for reference:

Designs can be free drawn with pens and paper or created digitally, using Google docs, Microsoft O365, or Canva (as examples). However you choose to create your design, get creative and explore different shapes! Your badge doesn’t need to be round; it can be any shape. It’s up to you, as the designer!
